The World Food Programme (WFP), renowned for its humanitarian efforts in saving lives and improving livelihoods worldwide, is currently seeking a Social Media Intern to join its team at the Global Supply Chain Support Centre in Dubai, UAE.


**Position:** Social Media Intern  

**Contract/Grade:** Internship  

**Duration:** 6 to 8 months  

**Location:** Dubai, UAE  

**Reporting to:** To be confirmed  

**Expected Start Date:** February 2024


Organizational Context

In response to the escalating global hunger crisis, WFP, recipient of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize, is realigning its procurement and supply chain functions from Rome, Italy, to the UAE. Dubai, chosen for its strategic advantages such as location, stability, and advanced infrastructure, hosts the newly established Global Supply Chain Support Centre.


Role and Responsibilities

- Social Media Management: Support the social media presence of the Senior Supply Chain Management (SCM) Director, crafting engaging content and responding to inquiries.

- Content Creation: Develop captivating content highlighting WFP's mission and the unique role of the Global Supply Chain Support Centre in Dubai.

- Visibility Enhancement: Utilize various communication channels to increase the Centre's visibility and foster collaborations within the humanitarian and logistics sectors.

- **Employer Branding Support:** Collaborate with HR to position WFP and the Global Supply Chain Support Centre as employers of choice, showcasing organizational values and commitment to employee development.


Requirements


- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a communications or marketing program.

- Proficiency in managing social media platforms and content creation.

- Strong writing and editing skills, with knowledge of graphic design tools being advantageous.

- Creative thinking and a collaborative mindset.

- Demonstrated interest in humanitarian efforts and a proactive attitude.

- Proficiency in English and Arabic.


Training Components


Interns will have access to WFP's learning platform, WeLearn, and may participate in workshops or seminars. By the end of the assignment, interns will gain a comprehensive understanding of WFP's operations, effective communication strategies, and multimedia campaign management.
